The hollow crunch of Bison's tailbone at :20s was horrific. Damn that sounded sick. Then the crotch counter at :29s... Wtf would you even call that?

Certainly no huge surprise to see him back. I just wish they shake up the OG characters a little bit more like they did with Ken and Bison. Being a fan of grapplers, I'm not sure how I feel about him not having his traditional Final Atomic Buster.

Was he not in IV?

Gief was in SF4. He was actually decent for all forty of the SF4 iterations. I can't wait to do the Giefcoptor in my underoos while listening to the Russian national anthem.

This is Laura, the latest addition to the roster according to Famitsu.

Judging by her outfit, colors, and the quick look at her moves, she seems to be another Brazilian with a style that's a mash up of grappling and Capoeria with a bit of Blanka's electricity thrown in.

Given Yoshinori Ono's clear love (ahem; BIAS) toward Blanka, I am hoping Laura is actually his replacement. I never did like Blanka and as I've said in other posts, I like it that they are shaking up the roster with new faces. However, given that we've already got a bunch of the OG characters, I'm almost certain Blanka will make the cut.

As with any new character, I'm interested in he backstory. I can't wait for the official fiction behind all the new characters to be released. Is she any relation to Sean, Oro, or (mostly likely given the electirc attacks) Blanka? Also, her stage is very reminiscent of the Brazil stage from SF3.

Am I the only one that doesn't like Shotoken characters all that much? I hope they leave him, Evil Ryu, Oni, and Gouken out of it to leave room for more originals like Rasheed and Laura or less used faces like Karin and Mika.

I'd be happy if that actually was Ono's "re-imagining" of Blanka.

I agree on the fighting style but Akuma has been such a major character in the Street Fighter games (and crossovers).
They could give him a few different moves or properties like they did with Ken?

The official trailer for Laura. Definitely seems to be Blanka's replacement now, given all the electrified rolling. I'm excited to have a 3rd confirmed grappler.

I was checking out the videos. It looks like they gave Cammy something similar to Killer Bee Assault from MvC2 for her ultra's!

It's "Shotokan", a karate style falsely attributed to Ryu and his different variations (their martial art is a fictional one called "Ansatsuken", or the assassin's fist). Today a shoto is merely a fireball+uppercut character, I believe. Which makes Sagat a shoto.

I hope Gouki/Akuma makes it to the initial cast. He plays very differently than Ryu or Ken, and they could give him a new gimmick or two, perhaps as a V-Skill.

A shoto is fireball/dragon punch/tatsumaki, for this reason (and also his movespeed+normals) Sagat isn't really classed as shoto otherwise you'd have to class other characters like Rose as shoto too since fireball/soul throw/soul spiral function similar.

Gouken lacks a standard shoryuken outside of super/Ultra 1 and is replaced by a rush palm and his tatsu goes vertical. Also his normals are way different to the standard shoto list so he's not really one.

Sakura functions more like a shoto, you could argue she's borderline shoto because her specials move a bit different but they're closer to traditional style than others.

Funny thing about Dan is his "shoto" moves are designed to suck to match his unfinished training with Gouken, but his moves that are based off Muay Thai (Dankyaku and some of his normal kicks) are better due to his father Go Hibiki.

Yoshinori Ono officially introduced Laura as Laura Matsuda, also officially declaring she is Sean Matsuda's (from SFIII) older sister.

No real surprise with this reveal. I just never liked him and wished we could finally get away from such a boring character.

Data mining into the PC Beta has uncovered the names of more characters that haven't been revealed yet. Alex, Urien, Juri, Ibuki & Balrog. A new character named "Zen" is also rumored, as the info found wasn't clear.

Hype Train, Track 5. I LOVE Alex! He's one of my favorite grapplers in any fighting game.

I'd imagine alot of players nowadays aren't even old enough to get the significance of Ken and Ryu's look in this video.
